PALM COAST, Fla. – Darryl Boyer, candidate for Florida State House District 19, recounted the endorsements he received from several major GOP figures, including Andrew Giuliani and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

He’s also earned the support of several state and local figures, including Reps. Webster Barnaby, R-Deltona, and Paula Stark, R-St. Cloud.

“My district encompasses all of Flagler County and a portion of the southern end of St. Johns County,” Boyer said in a statement. “Being a native of this area, the backing of 14 current and former elected officials from my hometown and the endorsements from several other leaders across the state hold immense significance for me.”

“Each of these individuals has been a source of inspiration and guidance throughout my life,” he said.

Stark recounted her experience meeting and getting to know Boyer during her first year in the legislature.

“I found him to be a very sincere, hard-working young man. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and always went out of his way any time I asked him,” she said.

“Darryl is a perfect example of the American dream. Darryl will be a tremendous asset to all the people of District 19, and I wholeheartedly endorse him for the Florida House,” she added.

Barnaby referred to Boyer as a “principled leader” who is a “strong advocate” for his constituents.

“I encourage the communities of Flagler County and St. Johns County to support and vote for my friend, Darryl Boyer for Florida State Representative,” he said.

Other endorsements included local figures such as Flagler County Commissioner Gregory Hansen and Flagler County School Board Chair Cheryl Massaro.

“Darryl Boyer has been a friend for over four years,” Hansen said. “He has consistently shown the intelligence and leadership to hold the Office of State Representative.”

“I have the utmost confidence in his ability and thoughtful approach to managing difficult situations.
We need his strong voice in Tallahassee!” he said.

Massaro mentioned the need for change in Tallahassee, and that Boyer’s vision is “exactly” what can bring about it.

“Without a doubt, Darryl Boyer will support strong, moderate republican values, create jobs, and stabilize area schools,” she said. “Darryl’s past experience working in Tallahassee as a Legislative Aid, while obtaining his Master’s Degree at Florida State University, and leadership roles at the University of North Florida have contributed to his capability to lead successfully.”

Additionally, Boyer has received the support of St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar, two current Palm Coast city council members and several current and former Flagler and St. Johns County commissioners and school board members.

Boyer is running in a contested primary for the seat held by House Speaker Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast. The speaker will be termed out at the end of the year.
