MELBOURNE, Fla. – Former President Donald Trump endorsed former Senate President Mike Haridopolos for his Congressional District 8 election efforts Monday night.

“Mike Haridopolos will be a fantastic Representative for Florida’s 8th Congressional District!” Trump said on social media.

“Mike has a strong record of success and incredible support from his Community,” he continued. “In Congress, he will Fight Inflation, Grow our Economy, Secure our Border, Support our Military/Vets, Champion American Energy Independence, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.”

“Mike Haridopolos has my Complete and Total Endorsement. HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!” he added.

Haridopolos thanked the former president for the support on social media as well.

“Thank you President Trump for your Complete and Total endorsement in my race for Congress FL-8!” he said.

“I support your America First plan to secure our border, grow our economy, and back the BLUE. I will not let our country down!” Haridopolos added.

The district is currently represented by Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., and covers all of Brevard and Indian River Counties, as well as part of Orange County.

Posey was endorsed for reelection by Trump, but later chose to retire, opening up the seat.

Florida Republican Reps. Cory Mills, Michael Waltz, and Brian Mast have all endorsed Haridopolos as well.

The former Senate president, who served during the 2011 and 2012 legislative sessions, has two Republican and two Democratic opponents for the district.

An election model by The Hill/DecisionDeskHQ gives Haridopolos a 99% chance of victory in November.
