67% Say Disney is Wrong to Oppose FL Banning Sex Ed for Young Children

NASHVILLE (FCV) – After Disney CEO Bob Chapek came out against the Parental Rights in Education Act, H.B. 1557, falsely named the “Don’t Say Gay Bill” by leftists, conservatives speculated that most people – including Disney consumers who usually have children – do not want young children as young as 5 being taught about sex.

Now, new polls prove not only that most Americans support the ban, but they also disagree with Disney’s actions in opposing it.

According to the Daily Wire poll, 67% of Americans said that Disney is “wrong” to oppose H.B. 1557, while only 33% say that the company is “right.”

The Wire included actual text from the legislation in the polling questions and then informed respondents that Disney opposes the legislation.

61% of Disney consumers said that the company was wrong, while 39% said they are correct.

The poll was taken among a sample of 1,000 people that was 37% Democrat, 32% Republican, and 31% Independent. Among people who voted in the 2020 Election, the poll showed President Joe Biden (D) with a +4% advantage, consistent with the official results.

Reports emerged that Chapek phoned DeSantis on his opposition to the proposal – DeSantis then strongly fired back and maintained his position that young children ought not to be taught about sexual orientation and gender identity in government schools.

61%-64% of Disney consumers agree with the bill’s main proposals, like restricting discussion on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Wire also found that 40% of Americans are “less likely” to purchase products from Disney after their opposition to the bill.

Methodology: This survey was conducted March 12-13, 2022 by Lucid, a Cint Group Company, on behalf of The Daily Wire. It has a margin of error of 5% with a confidence level of 95%. The survey’s respondents were provided by Lucid. It was not a poll of Daily Wire members.
