TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – As Hurricane Ian approaches Florida this week, Attorney General Ashley Moody is encouraging people to report price gouging on the “No Scam” app.

“No Scam” is an app designed to help people report allegations of price gouging in real-time and allow information on possible violations be sent to the Attorney General’s Office immediately.

State law prohibits an unconscionable increase in the price of essential commodities, such as food, water, hotel rooms, self-storage facilities, ice, gasoline, lumber, equipment, or other essential commodities or services needed as a direct result of a declared state of emergency.

The app can be downloaded for free via Apple and Android stores by searching “No Scam” and is available in English and Spanish.

The app allows consumers to attach pictures, copies of receipts and more when reporting suspected price gouging – directly from smart phones.

The Spanish “No Scam” app is available to users who have their home language set to Spanish on their cellular devices.
