WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – Aaron Bean won Florida’s 4th Congressional District after he beat Democrat candidate LaShonda “L.J.” Holloway in the election, according to the New York Times projected results.

Bean is a conservative businessman and a lifelong Republican from Northeast Florida.

Holloway began her Federal service career in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, D.C.

Bean’s focal points include bringing pro-business policies, conservative values and his “family-first” vision to his home region and Florida. Bean said his background and perspective are unique as a local business owner.

Bean served as a city commissioner in Fernandina Beach and later was elected mayor. He believes his ‘heart is devoted to public service,’ and was led to run for state office.

Holloway earned her Juris Doctorate degree and went on to work on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for Congresswoman Carrie Meek and also served in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Some of Holloway’s focuses during her campaign were climate action, access to healthcare, and criminal justice reform. Her website reads she has “depth and breadth” of Federal experience.
