After ‘birdbrain’ nickname, Trump camp leaves birdcage at Nikki Haley’s hotel door
DES MOINES, Iowa – Former President Donald Trump’s team left a birdcage outside former U.N. Ambassador and GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s hotel room in Iowa, according to a photo obtained by The Messenger.
Haley later posted the birdcage and criticized Trump and his team for the action.
The birdcage is a reference to Trump’s novel nomenclature for the former ambassador: “Birdbrain Nikki Haley.”
“MAGA, or I, will never go for Birdbrain Nikki Haley,” Trump said last week. “No loyalty, plenty of lies!”
Trump noted that Haley vowed to never run against him in the presidency and praised him for doing an “outstanding job.”
“She even came to Mar-a-Lago with her family, ‘bearing gifts,’” he said. “Anyway, Birdbrain doesn’t have the TALENT or TEMPERAMENT to do the job.”
Haley reacted to the birdcage, using the hashtags “#PrettyPatheticTryAgain” and “#YouJustMadeMyCaseForMe.”
Haley posted another performance at the Republican primary debate in California last week, facing off against fellow candidates North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.
The third debate will take place Nov. 8 in Miami.
