This is a developing story.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Former 2018 Democratic candidate for governor, Andrew Gillum, has reportedly been found not guilty of lying to the FBI, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

However, the jury was reportedly not able to reach a consensus on 18 other counts. That included one count of conspiracy and 15 counts of wire fraud the outlet reported.

The jury deliberated Gillum’s outcome for five days. They found him not guilty of lying to the FBI about other gifts he received from undercover FBI agents.

He was previously indicted by a U.S. government federal grand jury on 21 counts for conspiracy, wire fraud, and making false statements, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a press release.

“A federal grand jury has returned a twenty-one count indictment against Andrew Demetric Gillum, 42, and Sharon Janet Lettman-Hicks, 53, both of Tallahassee, Florida. The indictment was announced by Jason R. Coody, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida,” they said.

It was alleged that from 2016 to 2019, Gillum and Sharon Janet Lettman-Hicks conspired to commit wire fraud by “unlawfully soliciting and obtaining funds from various entities and individuals through false and fraudulent promises.”
