TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Attorney General Ashley Moody spoke during a Fox & Friends appearance saying the DeSantis Administration is sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard to force Democrat leaders to acknowledge the harm caused by the crisis at the border.

“How badly did your Governor Ron DeSantis just expose the absolute hypocrisy of the left on this?” host Todd Piro asked.

“These leaders, their preferred way to address this is to sit on high, issue edicts and opinions, deny there’s a crisis, deny Americans are dying at record rates every single day because the border is open and there’s fentanyl. We can tell you there’s a crisis,” said Moody.

The DeSantis Administration reportedly sent two planes as “part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.” The office said the funds were pulled from the $12 million the Florida legislature provided to help transport illegal immigrants from the state.

“It’s endangering American lives, the lives of migrants. But they’re going to ignore that. They’re going to deceive people. They lie about that. So what else are we supposed to do but take the border to them since they won’t come to the border? Biden won’t go. Kamala Harris won’t go. So, they should see what’s going on. So they have to address their willful ignorance or calculated evil, whatever it is.”

Since January of 2021, U.S. law enforcement has encountered more than 2.6 million migrants trying to enter the country illegally from the southern border, according to a June of 2022 U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Minority Report

Moody’s office said fentanyl is claiming a “record number of lives across the country” and is flowing in “freely” through the U.S. southwest border. They point to U.S. Customs and Border Protection seizing 2,100 pounds of the drug, “enough to kill nearly half a billion Americans.”

“We should have just put some fentanyl on [the planes] too – and see how Martha’s Vineyard would have dealt with fentanyl coming into their city and how their people would dealt with that and how their law enforcement would have been able to handle that,” she said.

Last week, Moody announced she, along with Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, a Democrat, is leading a bipartisan effort to call on President Joe Biden to declare fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction.
