WASHINGTON (FLV) – The latest odds in the betting market PredictIt show Gov. Ron DeSantis with a slight advantage over former President Donald Trump in winning the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

DeSantis has a 39% chance with Trump at 35%. They are ahead of Nikki Haley’s 5% and Mike Pence at 4%.

Neither DeSantis nor Trump have announced whether they would run for president. However, their names have been included in a series of polls and surveys from around the country.

After the FBI’s unprecedented raid of Trump’s Florida home, the former president shared a video saying, ”the best is yet to come.”

“Soon we will have greatness again,” Trump said. “It is hard-working patriots like you who are going to save our country.”

Governor DeSantis has repeatedly laughed off a presidential run.

“I’m trying to think like, what is this obsession with 24? Like we don’t even have the 22 election,” DeSantis said June 23. “I think it’s because the media knows that the Democrats are going to get hammered in 2022. They don’t want to talk about it.”
