TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis’ political campaign has released a new video going after President Joe Biden and top Democrats for blaming high gas prices on Russian President Vladimir Putin, rather than taking responsibility for the record gas prices under Democrat leadership.

Gas prices hit a five-week high in Florida, averaging at $4.20 per gallon, and as high as $4.42 per gallon in some parts of the Sunshine State. A tax break signed by DeSantis will ease some of that pain, cutting the gas tax by $0.25 per gallon.

“Florida’s economy has consistently outpaced the nation, but we are still fighting against inflationary policies imposed on us by the Biden administration,” DeSantis said “In Florida, we are going to support our residents and help them afford the goods that they need. Florida has been fiscally responsible, so we are in a good position to provide meaningful relief for families, right now.”

Joe Biden’s policies are responsible for the pain at the pump, not Putin,” the campaign said.

In a newly released video, White House Press Secretary and President Biden repeatedly refer the gas price increases as “Putin’s price hike”

“No, no, no – you’re wrong, you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” DeSantis is cut in over Biden and Psaki.

“This is being driven by inflationary policies out of Washington,” he said.

“BRANDON DID THAT,” a sticker reads, citing the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package, and the $1.5 trillion government funding package signed by Biden.

“No more drilling on federal lands, period,” Biden is heard saying.

“We were energy independent, prior to Biden,” DeSantis remarked, to Biden saying, “Come on, man!”

The DeSantis campaign is selling $15 “Brandon Did That Sticker Packs” on the WinRed website.
