SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (FLV) – U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, R-FL, weighed in on the heated U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania between Republican Mehmet Oz and Democrat John Fetterman.

“I’m not a doctor, but I can tell you that [John Fetterman] is not well,” he said. “It’s inhumane to rally behind a candidate that is obviously in poor health. The Democrats did that with Joe Biden, and look at that disaster.”

Fetterman survived and is recovering from a stroke. In the video Donalds is responding to, Fetterman is heard having difficulty stringing together complete sentences. “John Fetterman can barely talk I hope he gets well… He isn’t well,” Clay Travis said.

Donalds said, “I wish John well, but Pennslyvania voters deserve better.”

Fetterman declined to debate Republican candidate Mehmet Oz that was scheduled for Sept. 7. The Fetterman campaign said he was still working to improve his auditory processing and speech after a stroke.

Oz has continued to question why his opponent is refusing to debate with supporters saying Fetterman is either “hiding his views” or is unable to participate.

“John Fetterman is insulting Pennsylvania voters by dodging debates and avoiding their questions. Is Fetterman unable to debate, or is he unwilling to defend his radical views?” Oz asked on Fox.
