SAINT PETERSBURG (FCV) – In a tough election cycle against the momentous Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and after releasing a flip-flopping campaign ad, Democrat candidate for governor Charlie Crist said that he is “worried” about reaching his fundraising goals.

“I’ll be honest – I’m worried. We’re 4 hours away from our deadline and we still haven’t hit our goal yet,” he said in a Twitter post late Monday.

Conservatives and supporters of DeSantis laughed at Crist in the post replies, with DeSantis Press Secretary Christina Pushaw joking that Crist’s post “doesn’t exude confidence.”

While the “I’m worried” might be a tactic to get more people to donate, it is more than likely that Crist legitimately is worried about his fundraising totals, given that last month, he raised only $436,000 to DeSantis’ around $10,000,000.

January was DeSantis’ political committee – Friends of Ron DeSantis – best fundraising month of all time.

Crist is not seeing the same momentum changes.

Not only that, but polls are consistently showing the former Florida governor around 6 points behind DeSantis in a head-to-head matchup.

Many speculate that Florida is a lost cause for Democrats this election cycle and are not pouring as much money into the state as other election years when Florida was more purple.
