FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The recent assault of two NYPD officers in Times Squares by a mob of illegal migrants appeared to befuddle a CNN panel for not committing similar crimes in Florida.

“[Detectives asked me] why don’t they just stay and steal in Florida?” said John Miller, chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst. “Because there, you go to jail.”

Miller explained that migrants will steal further north, but go spend the money further south in Florida.

The shocking scene, which was caught on surveillance, initiated after the cops ordered a group to clear popular 42nd Street in Manhattan on Saturday around 8:30 p.m. The video then shows a suspect being wrestled to the ground by the cops before a mob jumps in.

One of the officers, on the ground with his back turned, is then viciously kicked in the head during the struggle by an approaching individual. The attackers eventually fled the scene.

“You don’t touch our police officers. You don’t touch anybody,” New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said to reporters later following the incident.

Both cops caught in the melee suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Gov. Ron DeSantis recently touted Florida’s 50-year record low crime rate.

“Other states endanger their citizens by making it easier to put criminals back on the street. Here in Florida, we will to continue to support and enact policies to protect our communities and keep Floridians safe,” DeSantis previously said. “Florida will remain the law and order state.”

Four suspects following the melee were later caught and identified as Darwin Andres Gomez Izquiel, 19, Kelvin Servat Arocha, 19, Juarez Wilson, 21, and Yorman Reveron, 24. A fifth suspect, Jhoan Boada, 22, was arrested Monday night.

The suspects were reportedly released without bail. One of individuals also has previous arrests for assault and robbery

Three of them, after walking out of jail, appeared impetuous to their actions by giving the middle finger, laughing, and blowing kisses at reporters.

“While some states are adopting soft-on-crime policies that increase lawlessness and decrease public safety, in Florida, we strive to strengthen our laws, keep violent criminals behind bars and take proactive steps to keep our communities safe,” Attorney General Ashley Moody previously said.
