Condoms, lube, sex toys given out at ‘family’ Pride festival in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Florida’s Voice investigation revealed that free condoms, lube, and sex toys were given out at the advertised “family” Jax River City Pride Festival Saturday.

Florida’s Voice discovered vendor Adam and Eve, an adult “novelty” store, passed out free condoms and lubricants to attendees. Additionally, the vendor gave out free “erection rings” and mini “rocket” vibrators if attendees followed their social media account.

The free event was held at Riverside Park in Jacksonville and open to the public. Florida’s Voice spotted more than 50 children at the event.

The event was advertised as a “family event” on social media.

Other sex toys were on display at the Adam and Eve booth, such as vibrators, dildos, bondage kits, among other items.

Another vendor, Dyva Grl Boutique, also had vibrators and sex toys on display.

Another vendor sold accordion fans with words such as “CUNT” “I enjoy Cock,” among others implying explicit words or phrases.

The event website online said Jax River City Pride Festival includes “live entertainment and dozens of local vendors, including artists, businesses, and other non-profits, as well as multiple food vendors.  It consists of a Family Fun Zone with face painting, a rock wall, and inflatables.”

The event was expected to attract “thousands of attendees.”

Beside the event stage, the venue provided eight portable toilets, but did not provide any hand washing stations.
