TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Republican Corey Simon, a former All-American defense tackle, launched his second television ad pitching himself as the best candidate for Senate District 3 in North Florida.
“And he learned you don’t win championships alone,” the ad said. “You win as a team. Most politicians- not on our team.”
The ad describes Simon as growing up in a “tough neighborhood” with a loving mom, hope, and talent for football. It then continues to list off the high prices of gas, groceries and housing.
“It’s time for leaders who weren’t born into power or privilege leaders who care about people, not politics, leaders who hear that wisdom and make that hit for our Americans,” Simon said.
Simon started the Corey Simon Success Center to focus on mentor the underserved population at a local middle school. He also partnered with the Florida Department of Children and Families and Big Bend Community Based Care.
“He helped struggling kids out of poverty and striving parents into better jobs. He’s all American. He’s all in and he’s the only candidate on our team,” the ad said. “Proven winner. Proven leader.”
Gov. Ron DeSantis has endorsed Simon for State Senate in District 3.
“From Pompano to Doak Campbell to the NFL to leading Volunteer Florida, Corey Simon has been a leader and would make a great addition to the Florida Senate,” DeSantis said in June.
