TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – As Gov. Ron DeSantis’ second term approaches, he announced two members of his administration will be departing and replaced with new faces come January.

Dane Eagle is departing as the Secretary of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the governor announced, thanking him for helping strengthen a “nation-leading economy.”

“Thank you, Secretary @DaneEagle, for your outstanding service to Florida’s businesses and workforce,” he said. “Under your leadership at @FLDEO, you helped to strengthen our communities and nation-leading economy. We wish you the best in your next endeavors.”

Eagle thanked the governor for the opportunity.

Under Eagle and DeSantis, many economic grants for causes like infrastructure and workforce development have been awarded to counties across the state.

Terry Rhodes is also departing as the Director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

“Thank you @FLHSMV Director Terry Rhodes for your years of service to Floridians. Her dedicated leadership and commitment to public service have made our roads safer for our state troopers and motorists who travel on them each day,” the governor said. “We wish her fair winds and following seas.”

Other figures in the administration, like Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. and Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo will remain.

DeSantis announced the Keeping Florida Free Transition Team shortly after his landslide re-election in November to prepare for January.
