TALLAHASSEE (FLV) –  Gov. Ron DeSantis raised $10.2 million in May for his reelection campaign and continues to significantly outpace his Democratic opponents in the race for Florida’s top seat.

DeSantis blew the other Democrat candidates out of the water, with a total of $112 million on-hand cash in his war chest.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate and current agriculture commissioner Nikki Fried raised about $300,000 for the month of May. Fried has $3.9 million on hand.

Democrat candidate and U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist raised about $1 million for the month of May. Crist has $6.3 million of on-hand cash in his political war chest.

The most recent polls from February show DeSantis beating Crist by 8.8 points. In the Democratic primary, most recent polling data shows Crist leading Fried by 19.3 points.

Governor DeSantis continuously campaigns on his decisions to “keep Florida free” during the coronavirus pandemic. The Governor also promotes Florida’s fiscally responsible budget. He continues to boost his anti-CRT agenda in schools. DeSantis’ campaign ads do not mention his Democratic opponents, but instead call out President Joe Biden for his economic policies.

In the Democratic primary, both Fried and Crist continue to fight for the nomination. Fried has called out Crist for not showing up at debates and for missing gubernatorial forums. The primary is August 23, 2022.
