TALLAHASSEE (FCV) – The Office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a stern warning warning to Antifa and other radical leftist groups known for perpetrating violence in response to some left-wing organizations calling for “mobilization” and mass protests over H.B. 1557, otherwise known as the Parental Rights in Education bill.

Christina Pushaw, who serves as press secretary for DeSantis, slammed the media’s amplification of the false narrative dubbing H.B. 1557 as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

While vehemently expressing the Governor and his administration’s support for both freedom of speech and freedom of the press, Pushaw stated “the irresponsible, misleading, and inflammatory media coverage of this bill has prompted these protests and calls to action.”

However, Pushaw also warned that, “In Florida, we do not tolerate violent protests or rioting, and anyone who writes or engages in political violence will be brought to justice, regardless of which groups they may be affiliated with.”

The Governor’s press secretary also included a statement in which she argued, “Most people in Florida and in the nation support this legislation.” There is in fact polling to back up Pushaw’s claim.
