TALLAHASSEE (FCV) – In early 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R) YouTube channel had a video taken down by the big tech video platform for spreading COVID-19 “misinformation” relating to children wearing masks.

According to NBC News, “Several scientists questioned the use of masks by kids at Gov. Ron DeSantis’ roundtable discussion last month.” DeSantis’ panel was host to major renowned scientists and doctors like Dr. Jay Battacharya from Stanford University.

Now, the skepticism regarding masks being mandated in schools has been proven correct. Not only has a study found that masks were ineffective in schools, but an article published Wednesday in CNBC showcased Dr. Scott Gottlieb saying it is “time to consider dumping school Covid mask mandates.”

“The Center for Disease Control and Prevention should adjust its Covid masking guidance for schools, Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC on Wednesday,” the article reads.

“We’re going to probably have to tolerate, and probably should, a higher level of baseline spread,” the former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner said.

COVID-19 was never a real threat to children, which was DeSantis’ original argument, coinciding with the doctors at his panel last year.

At the time, DeSantis’ press secretary, Cody McCloud, explained that the roundtable was led by “world-renowned doctors and epidemiologists from Oxford, Stanford, and Harvard, all of whom are eminently qualified to speak on the global health crisis.”

The opinions of these doctors are seemingly vindicated as the mainstream media begins shifting the COVID-19 narrative to a less mandate-centered viewpoint amidst the upcoming 2022 midterms where Democrats are set to potentially lose control of the House of Representatives and Senate.

NBC reported that according to a YouTube transcript, the video was removed for one of the doctors responding to DeSantis’ question of whether children should wear masks in schools, saying, “Uh, children should not wear face masks, no. They don’t need it for their own protection, and they don’t need it for protecting other people either.”

Now, the narrative has shifted and the doctors are proven right. Additionally, teachers and education leaders have noted the intense strife caused by lockdown and mandate policies for the education system.

Many conservatives are starting to argue that with potential massive losses coming for Democrats, they may begin to phase out mandates and COVID-19 alarmism and credit President Joe Biden (D) for ‘ending’ the pandemic.
