TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis collected $20 million in the first six weeks of his presidential campaign, while Never Back Down, a DeSantis-supporting super PAC, reported $130 million since their launch in March.

DeSantis’ campaign said that the $20 million report was the “largest first-quarter filing from any non-incumbent Republican candidate in more than a decade.”

The campaign for former President Donald Trump and his Save America PAC brought $35 million in during the second quarter of fundraising.

Campaign manager Generra Peck said that because of President Joe Biden’s leftist policies that are “destroying the country,” Republicans are “excited to invest” in a “winner.”

“We are grateful for the investment so many Americans have made to get this country back on track,” she said. “The fight to save it will be long and challenging, but we have built an operation to share the governor’s message and mobilize the millions of people who support it. We are ready to win.”

The Never Back Down super PAC has also played a large role in the campaign’s national presence.

The committee grew larger when DeSantis’ former state fundraising committee, now named Empower Parents PAC, transferred its remaining funds into presidential campaign efforts.

The DeSantis campaign contrasted their numbers with Trump’s previous campaign reports. The former president raised $3.8 million in the fourth quarterly report of 2022 and $14.5 million in the first quarterly report of 2023, they noted.
