DeSantis to tailgate at famous Iowa football game, embark on Iowa bus tour

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis will embark on another bus tour in Iowa as he reenters the 2024 presidential campaign scene off the heels of responding to Hurricane Idalia.

Never Back Down, an active super PAC supporting DeSantis though not officially affiliated, will host the governor on Saturday in Iowa.

There, DeSantis will tailgate the famous “CyHawk” college football game.

Saturday morning, DeSantis will attend the 145th Annual Iowa Firefighter’s Association Convention in Iowa Falls.

Then, that afternoon, he’ll travel to Jack Trice Stadium in Ames to tailgate the Iowa game.

Never Back Down has reignited on-the-ground campaign efforts after the DeSantis campaign took a pause to respond to major Hurricane Idalia, which caused destruction and power outages across the Big Bend and surrounding counties.

Earlier this week, DeSantis’ team announced he will return to the campaign trail as recovery for Idalia exits the “emergency” phase.

As of Thursday morning, all school districts have reopened and nearly all customers have had their power restored.

Never Back Down announced the beginning of the Iowa Parents Never Back Down Coalition, which is composed of parents across Iowa supporting DeSantis for president.

“The Democrats and Washington elites will stop at nothing to put themselves in control of our children instead of us parents, and the only person who can stop them dead in their tracks is Gov. DeSantis because he’s not afraid to take on the tough battles, restore sanity, and protect the next generation of Americans,” said mother and Johnston Chair of Iowa Parents Never Back Down, Missy Collins.

Former President Donald Trump will also attend the Iowa football game Saturday.
