TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis will kick off his 2024 presidential campaign Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. EST with tech mogul Elon Musk, Florida’s Voice has confirmed.

The news was first reported by NBC and Fox.

The governor will also reportedly file official 2024 paperwork with the Federal Election Commission Wednesday evening.

“Big if true,” his wife, Casey DeSantis, reacted to reports of the governor’s campaign starting on Wednesday.

Davis Sacks, who regularly communicates with Musk and is supportive of the Florida governor, will reportedly moderate the event held on Twitter Spaces, which is the social media site’s live audio podcasting platform.

Then, the campaign is slated to release its official 2024 announcement video, and will then reportedly continue visiting states pivotal to a presidential victory next year.

DeSantis will also be meeting with potential donors in Miami beginning tomorrow, widely having been speculated to coincide with his campaign launch, which is now confirmed.

The governor has been visiting early primary and swing states for months, since his book The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival on Feb. 28.

Now, DeSantis will not need to mince words on whether he is seeking the Oval Office next year when speaking to nationwide crowds.

The impending announcement also comes after months of persistent attacks from former President Donald Trump, his campaign and his supporters, who expected the governor to entered the race since last year when he won reelection by almost 20 points.

DeSantis is expected to immediately be the official runner-up to Trump.

Monday, DeSantis’ team proclaimed that the governor serves as the “greatest threat” to the former president’s 2024 prospects.
