BURBANK (FLV) – The Walt Disney Company reportedly told employees Friday it would help pay for “pregnancy-related decisions” after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

“In fact, we have processes in place so that an employee who may be unable to access care in one location has affordable coverage for receiving similar levels of care in another location,” a Disney memo said.

“This travel benefit covers medical situations related to cancer treatments, transplants, rare disease treatment and family planning (including pregnancy-related decisions).”

CNBC reported on an internal memo sent to employees from Disney Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice Presidents of Enterprise Benefits and Well-being.

“Please Know that our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, no matter where they live,” Richardson and Thomas said in the memo.

Ron DeSantis Signs 15 Week Abortion Ban

A recent Florida law bans abortions after 15 weeks of gestations, with exceptions in cases when the mother’s life is in danger. It is set to go into effect July 1st. Previous state law banned abortions after 24 weeks.

The 15-week abortion ban is facing a challenge in the state courts system by the ACLU on behalf of groups like Planned Parenthood. The Florida constitution recognizes a right to privacy, which could provide a hurdle for the law.
