WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-CA, confirmed that U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-CA, and U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-CA, were kicked off of the House Intelligence Committee.

McCarthy and Republican congress members also intend to boot U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-MN, off of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Her position requires a majority vote.

A prime reason given for their removal involve “threats” to the U.S.’ national security.

U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, R-FL, and U.S. Rep. Jim Banks, R-IN, spoke with Fox News Reporter Pete Hegseth about the removal of the Democrat congress members. Hegseth asked Banks if Schiff and Swalwell are “threats to our national security.”

“Without a doubt. Remember, I’m the guy that Nancy Pelosi kicked off of the fake sham Jan. 6 Committee last year. She never gave a single reason why she kicked me off the committee and here you have speaker Mccarthy, a man of his word. He followed through on a promise that he made that he would not let these two threats to our national security serve on the Intelligence Committee. Never mind that being on the Intelligence Committee implies that you’re intelligent, and we’re talkin’ about two of the biggest clowns in congress, Swalwell taking the cake,” Banks said.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi removed Banks from the Jan. 6, 2021 Committee.

Former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said “Adam Schiff lied to the American people” on Fox’s talk show ‘Outnumbered’ on Wednesday.

“During my time as CIA director and secretary of state, I know that he leaked classified information that had been provided to him,” Pompeo said.

“Obviously, think about it, caught in a very compromising situation, this guy shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near our national secrets because of how compromised he was,” Banks continued. “Today, Mike Pompeo confirmed that Adam Schiff actually released, knowingly released classified information when he was chair of the Intelligence Committee. He shouldn’t be allowed on the committee after doing that, he should be punished for it so, kudos to Speaker McCarthy for following through on what he said he would do, neither of these two guys should even be in congress, let alone serving on the Intelligence Committee.”

After Schiff was booted from the committee, he posted a video on TikTok asking for donations.

“We knew it would be bad when the Republicans took over but it’s far worse than we expected. But I can promise you this: this is not the end of my fight for our democracy, this is just the beginning. Please, join us and contribute today,” Schiff said.

Donalds reacted to Schiff’s TikTok video and said Republicans are the ones who have been “fighting for the democracy” and pointed to Schiff leaking classified information to “score political points with the radical left.”

“Well look, I don’t know where he’s trying to ask for campaign contributions but let me just say this, in terms of fighting for the democracy, that has been Republicans throughout this entire time. All we have wanted is the truth surrounding all of these issues and what we’ve known for quite some time is that Adam Schiff has been leaking to the press, leaking classified information all to score political points with the radical left in our country, targeting his political opponents on purpose and using his seat on the Intelligence Committee as chairman to do that,” Donalds said.

Ahead of the 2016 presidential election, Schiff falsely accused former President Donald Trump of being a Russian agent. He also reportedly leaked classified information.

“If you’re gonna go through and do something like that and everybody on Capitol Hill knows, you don’t get to serve on the Intelligence Committee,” Donalds said. “So he can go and raise all the money he wants. Trust me, that political fight will be waiting for him right here and we’re going to win it because the truth has finally prevailed and we’re gonna take this congress and actually make sure more of the facts, more of the evidence comes out to demonstrate to the people what has actually happened on Capitol Hill over the last couple of years.”

Omar criticized house leadership for the removal of the congress members and said Republicans “have been gunning” for Democrats’ seats.

“Republicans have been gunning for our seats and obviously know how effective that we have been in upholding the constitution, in defending our democracy, in standing up to extremists and we will continue to do that work,” Omar said.

Omar’s position on the Foreign Affairs Committee requires a majority vote to remove her from the committee. Republicans hold the majority and Hegseth asked Banks and Donalds if they think they’ll be able to remove her.

Banks said having Omar on the Foreign Affairs Committee is “dangerous” because she is a “known anti-Semite.”

“I hope so. I’ll be one of the first to vote to remove her from the Foreign Affairs Committee and remember, she is one of the most anti-Israel members of congress, maybe that congress has ever seen. I mean her rhetoric against Israel is dangerous,” Banks said.

“Israel is our most important ally around the world, especially at a time like this where the Biden Administration has turned the world upside down and turned the world a far less safe place, a more dangerous place. So, to have a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, which is a committee that’s supposed to go out and help us build relationships with our allies be very anti-Israel, it’s dangerous to have her on the committee to begin with so I hope we vote to remove her, I’ll be one of the first to cast my vote to do so.”

Donalds said he will be the “second vote” to remove Omar.

“I’ll be the second vote when it comes to Ilhan Omar [….] It was all about the republic, it was about what House Republicans are going to do to fulfill all the promises we’ve made when we campaigned to have a majority. We have it now and I fully believe that all my conversations with my colleagues throughout the conference, we are going to get the job done whether that’s Adam Schiff and Swalwell and Ilhan Omar, whether it’s the debt ceiling or whatever else is to come, securing our border is one in particular, we’re gonna get the job done on behalf of the American people,” Donalds said.

Schiff called the removal “petty” and “political payback.”

U.S. Rep. Cory Mills, R-FL, thanked McCarthy for “doing what’s right” in removing Schiff and Swalwell.

McCarthy lashed back at a reporter about his decision to remove the members of the Intelligence Committee.

“What did Adam Schiff do as a chairman of the Intel. Committee? What Adam Schiff did, used his power as chairman and lied to the American public, even the inspector general said it [….] When we had a laptop, he used it before an election to be politics and say that it was false and said it was the Russians when he knew different, when he knew the intel. If you talk to John Radcliff, DNI, he came out ahead of time and said there’s no intel. to prove that and he used his position as chairman, knowing he has information the rest of America does not and lied to the American public,” McCarthy said.

Schiff and Swalwell will still be able to serve on other committees. McCarthy said he will “not be like Democrats and play politics.”

“But I will not be like Democrats and play politics with these where they removed Republicans from committees in all committees. So yes, he can serve on committees but he will not serve on intel. cause it goes to the national security of America and I will always put them first alright?” McCarthy explained.

McCarthy said the FBI was “concerned” about having Swalwell on the Intelligence Committee because of his “relationship with a Chinese spy.”

“And if you wanna talk about Swalwell, let’s talk about Swalwell [….]  I had the briefing and Nancy Pelosi had the briefing from the FBI. The FBI never came before this congress to tell the leadership of this congress that Eric Swalwell had a problem with a Chinese spy until he served on intel. So it wasn’t just us who were concerned about it, the FBI was concerned about putting a member of congress on the Intel. Committee that has the rights to see things that others don’t because of his knowledge and relationship with a Chinese spy [….] They brought it to the works of the leaders. I’ve got that briefing so I do not believe he should sit on that committee and I believe there’s 200 other Democrats that can serve on that committee,” McCarthy said.
