TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Democratic Jacksonville mayoral candidate Donna Deegan’s lead against Republican Daniel Davis dropped seven points in one week, a new poll suggests.

FrederickPolls reported that Deegan held an eight point lead over Davis, with 54% of likely voters supporting her and 46% supporting Davis.

The FrederickPolls survey was conducted April 3 to April 4.

One week later, a University of North Florida poll surveyed voters. That poll showed Deegan held a one point lead in an “extremely tight race.”

Deegan and Davis face off in the May 16 runoff election.

The FrederickPolls survey reportedly came from a sample skewed to a +6 Republican Party registration advantage. Out of the sample, 48% of Republicans were surveyed and 42% of Democrats were surveyed. Its sample size was 1,162 with a margin of error of 2.9%.

The UNF poll sampled 650 likely voters in Duval County. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3.8%.
