Duval County March 2023 election results

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (FLV) – Below are the results from the Duval County election Tuesday. 

Residents are electing a new Jacksonville mayor, city council members, and ‘at large’ council members, and property appraiser, according to the Duval County preliminary results page.

The polls closed at 7 p.m.

If candidates do not receive more than 50% of the vote, the top two will compete in a May election.

The following results are based off the Duval County unofficial results page.

Jacksonville Mayor

Jacksonville mayoral candidates Daniel Davis, a Republican, and Donna Deegan, a Democrat, are heading to a runoff after Tuesday night’s election, unofficial results show.

Deegan received 39.50% of the vote and Davis received 24.73%, according to unofficial results.

City Council District 1

Republican Ken Amaro beat Democrat Alton McGriff in the race for the city council District 1 seat.

Preliminary results show Amaro received around 66% of the vote and McGriff received 34%. 

City Council District 2

Republicans Mike Gay and Lindsey Brock are heading to a runoff for city council District 2.

Preliminary results show Gay received about 42% of the vote and Brock received around 33%. 

The other candidate who ran for the seat was Republican Jennifer Casey.

City Council District 3

Republican Will Lahnen won against Republican Natalie Alden for city council District 3.

Lahnen received around 53% of the vote and Alden received around 47%.

City Council District 5

Republican Joe Carlucci won against Morgan Roberts for city council District 5.

Carlucci received around 64% and Roberts received around 36% of the vote.

City Council District 6

Republican Michael Boylan beat Tom Harris for the city council District 6 seat.

Boylan received around 65% and Harris received around 35% of the vote.

City Council District 7

Republican Joseph Hogan and Democrat Jimmy Peluso are heading to a runoff for the city council District 7.

Hogan received around 32% of the vote and Peluso received around 35%.

Other candidates who ran for the seat and lost include Democrats John Phillips, Kim Pryor, and Parrish King, who is not affiliated with a party.

City Council District 8

Democrats Reggie Gaffney Jr. and Tameka Gaines Holly are heading to a runoff for the seat for city council District 8.

Gaffney received around 34% of the vote and Holly received around 32%.

Other candidates who ran for the seat included Republican Charles Barr, Democrat Solomon Olopade, and Ronald Tracy Robison Jr., who is a part of the Libertarian Party of Florida.

City Council District 9

Republican Mike Muldoon and Democrat Tyrona Clark-Murray are heading to a runoff for the seat for city council District 9.

Muldoon received around 47% of the vote and Clark-Murray received around 15%

Other candidates who ran for the seat included Democrats Shanna Carter, Celestine Mills, TaNita Noisette-Woods, and Kamren Stower.

City Council District 10

Democrat Ju’Coby Pittman won the seat for city council District 10 and received around 65% of the vote.

He ran against Democrats Vanessa Cullins Hopkins, Keshan Gainey Chambliss, Kim Stephens Perry, and Brian Hicks, who was a write-in candidate.

City Council District 11

Republican Raul Arias Jr. and Democrat Ramon Day are heading to a runoff for the seat for city council District 11.

Arias received around 35% of the vote and Day received around 43%.

Republican Norman Brewer Jr. was the other candidate who ran for the seat.

City Council District 12

Republican Randy White won the seat for city council District 2.

White received around 65% of the vote against Democrats Johnny Causey and Tammyette Thomas.

City Council District 13

Republican Rory Diamond won the seat for city council District 13 against Mike Finn who was a write-in candidate.

Diamond received 87% of the vote and Finn received 13%.

City Council District 14

Republican John Draper and Democrat Rahman Johnson are heading to a runoff for city council District 14.

Preliminary results show Draper received around 30% of the vote and Johnson received around 46%.

The other candidate who ran for the seat was Republican Alberta Hipps.

City Council At-Large – group 1

Current City Council President Republican Terrance Freeman won against Eric Parker who is a part of the Libertarian Party of Florida for city council At-Large group 1.

Freeman received around 65% of the vote and Parker received around 35%.

City Council At-Large – group 2

Democrat Joshua Hicks lost against Republican Ron Salem for the city council At-Large group 2 seat.

Hicks received around 47% of the vote and Salem received around 53%.

City Council At-Large – group 5

Republican Chris Miller and Democrat Charles Garrison are heading to a runoff for city council At-Large group 5.

Preliminary results show Miller received around 37% of the vote and Garrision received around 26% of the vote. 

Other candidates who ran for the seat included Republican Reginald K. Blount, Democrat Nahshon Nicks, Jerry Rorabaugh, who is a part of the Libertarian Party of Florida and Jack Meeks, who is not affiliated with a party.

Property appraiser

Republican Jason Fischer and Democrat Joyce Morgan are heading to a runoff for the seat for the property appraiser seat.

Morgan received around 48% of the vote and Fischer received around 31%.

The other candidate who ran for the seat was Republican Danny Becton.
