JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Republican Party of Duval County celebrated on Thursday the Democratic voter registration lead being cut down to just under 3%.

As of Thursday, Duval Democrats lead Republicans in voter registration by 2.89%, or 18,538 voters.

The numbers have been trending in local Republicans’ favor.

In total, the county is home to 248,556 Democrats, 230,018 Republicans, 146,729 no party affiliation and 16,584 minor party.

The Duval GOP described Thursday’s deficit as an “all-time low” for Democrats in the county.

“This is a testament to the hard work of our local Republican patriots: from those who’ve donated to build our formidable operation to our volunteers who’ve spent hundreds of man-hours working in our county every day,” Duval GOP Chairman and Rep. Dean Black of Jacksonville said.

“It also speaks volumes to the tremendous unpopularity of the Biden Administration and their failed policies: open borders, Bidenomics, and American weakness,” Black said. “The work is not done!”

The Duval GOP trend against Democrats has been a statewide one as well, with state Republicans breaching a lead of 800,000 recently.

As of Thursday, Republicans lead Democrats statewide by nearly 830,000 voters.
