Florida’s Conservative Voice has obtained documents that report Florida Power and Light, or FPL, Florida’s largest energy provider, is requiring employees who do not report proof of being fully vaccinated to take two COVID-19 antigen tests per calendar week to keep their job.

“Beginning Tuesday, June 15, employees who are not fully vaccinated will be required to participate in the new BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen SelfTEST protocol, where you will now self-perform the BinaxNOW Antigen testing twice per calendar week and self-report your results on the same day you performed the testing,” the email reads.

Each antigen test takes approximately 20 minutes, the document shows. Employees must immediately report their results to the company online or via telephone.

The anonymous whistleblower who provided these documents says that higher-ups have said those who do not report results will be assumed to have resigned.

Effectively, if FPL employees do not take non-Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, approved COVID-19 vaccinations or non-FDA approved antigen tests, their jobs will be terminated.

It is unclear whether firing employees for not having received an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) vaccination or using non-FDA approved COVID-19 rapid antigen testing kits twice per week is legal under Florida or federal law.

The source has said they are not confident in their union to push back on FPL for their new policy.

A petition opposing the new rule began and it’s been sent to a union leader. That union leader met with a higher-up who represents them to FPL. The higher-up reportedly said that the petition means “nothing” to him.

FPL’s new policy comes as a boiling medical war begins to erupt across the United States in relation to the COVID-19 vaccines that were approved for emergency use by the FDA.

Recently, the Pfizer vaccine has been shown to exhibit higher-than-expected heart inflammation, chiefly in young men, than is typically expected in the average population.

Republicans largely favor medical privacy and personal risk assessment while Democrats typically support mandating COVID vaccination in nearly all facets of everyday life.

Recently, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law that would ban companies from requiring patrons to show proof of COVID vaccination.

Florida’s Conservative Voice reached out to FPL for comment and has not yet received a response.

This is a developing story and might be updated to reflect current information.
