FACT CHECK: DeSantis is NOT on Vacation, Held Meetings Thursday

CLAIM: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is on vacation while the Omicron variant of COVID-19 surges in the state.

CLAIMANTS: Various left-wing social media users and journalists

FACT CHECK: False. DeSantis held a meeting with Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo Thursday morning and has an active schedule. He is not on vacation.

TALLAHASSEE (FCV) – Amidst the surge of the Omicron variant in virtually all parts of the world, including Florida, left-wing journalists and social media users have claimed that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is on vacation.

DeSantis’ Press Secretary, Christina Pushaw, explained that DeSantis has an active schedule:

DeSantis’ schedule is made available to the media, and by proxy, the public.

Despite rampant online misinformation pertaining to DeSantis being on vacation, FCV could not find any fact-check articles disproving the fallacious claim.

President Joe Biden (D), on the other hand, has been on vacation at his Rehoboth beach house and is now traveling to Wilmington, Delaware.
