FORT MYERS, FL – Florida’s Conservative Voice has obtained an image from within a Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) classroom showing a presentation slide painting conservatives as incapable of producing “normal offspring.”

“Can two Republicans, conservative, climate change denier, antivaxxers have normal offspring? If so, what is the cross?,” Biological Science Professor Roderick Rolle’s slide read, with an image of former President Donald Trump (R) and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R).

Conservatives are shocked by the slide, arguing that demonizing those on the other side of the political spectrum, or of any common characteristic, as not being “normal” is dangerous.

Florida’s Conservative Voice reached out to FGCU, a tax-payer funded school, and asked whether they condone this kind of teaching and if discipline of the professor is warranted.

“Without full context of the lecture or lesson that is portrayed by the image, it would be difficult to answer the question posed. If discipline is warranted, the university would follow its established process,” they responded.

“FGCU encourages academic freedom and free speech, and we also encourage students to have open debate and dialogue with their professors. If a student feels uncomfortable, we encourage them to speak with the faculty member or the department chair to resolve the issue.”

Conservatives are also upset at the fact that Rolle’s instruction contains factual errors related to the political climate in America.

Trump and DeSantis are not anti-vaxxers; Trump was booed for telling supporters in Alabama to get the COVID-19 vaccines, and DeSantis has urged Floridians to get the COVID-19 vaccines several times.

Additionally, Trump signed a full-page advert in the New York Times in 2009 that called for action on climate change; he also refers to himself as an “environmentalist. DeSantis proposed $1 billion in an environmentalist program earlier this year.

The presentation is not a surprise to many on the right who have called out a left-wing bias that plagues institutions like colleges throughout the United States.
