TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Florida Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr. said the National Education Association will not “radicalize” Florida students after the group proposed to change the term “mother” to “birthing parents.”

“Last I checked, men cannot give birth,” Diaz said. “Erasing the definition of a woman is anti-science & only harms the special relationship between a mother & her child.”

The National Education Association reportedly proposed a resolution that would change the word “mother” to “birthing parent” in contracts in order to be inclusive to the LGBTQIA+ community.

“We will not allow the Biden Teacher Union to force their radical agenda on Florida students,” Diaz said.

Fox News reports that the NEA’s resolution on the word change was ultimately not brought to a vote.
