ORLANDO (FCV) – At a Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) press conference in Orlando on Monday, the governor called out mainstream media for creating “a false narrative” surrounding the violent attack in Waukesha, Wisconsin that left several people dead.

“They are not wanting to cover this Wisconsin thing for what it is,” he said, arguing that the attack might have been linked to the Kyle Rittenhouse ‘Not Guilty’ verdicts.

In response, Florida Politics, operated by Peter Schorsch, reported that DeSantis is “lashing out” at the media, and referred to the Waukesha attack as one in which “an SUV plowed past police barricades and into a crowd, killing six.”

The Waukesha attacker is a black man with black-nationalist and anti-Rittenhouse social media posts. He has been charged for intentionally murdering several.

No motive has been determined in the attack.

Florida Politics’ seeming criticism of DeSantis for pointing out false media narratives surrounding the Wisconsin attack drew the ire of conservatives like Christina Pushaw, DeSantis’ Press Secretary:

In another recent article, published after the former, author A. G. Gancarski referred to the attack as a “driver of the SUV that killed six people.”
