FORT MYERS (FCV) – Thursday, Florida State House Representative Spencer Roach (R) filed a bill to eliminate child care costs for many foster parents.

In a press release, Roach announced that House Bill 945 would entirely cut the out-of-pocket expenses that foster parents pay for children aged 5 or under, which can range from $200-$2,000 per month.

“Florida is the only state that mandates childcare for foster children without funding it,” Roach remarked.

“My bill will fully fund childcare for all foster children under five, which includes 11,000 children.”
