TAMPA, Fla. – The Republican Party of Florida welcomed President Joe Biden to the Sunshine State Tuesday ahead of his speech in Tampa.

The president’s speech is set to focus on access to abortion, and Biden is expected to criticize Florida’s soon-to-take effect six week abortion ban, slated to begin May 1 thanks to a recent ruling from the Supreme Court of Florida.

“Floridians top issues are immigration, the economy, and inflation, in all three areas Joe Biden has failed. Instead of coming to talk to Floridians about manufactured issues, he should get to work solving the real issues that he has failed to lead on,” said Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power. “We also welcome him to learn from the successes that has made Florida a beacon of freedom for the rest of the Country.”

The Florida GOP also highlighted how the state is now home to “nearly 1 million more” registered Republicans than Democrats. As of April, the GOP’s lead is approaching an unprecedented 900,000.

“President Biden should be on a listen and learn mission to Florida where he will discover we believe in parental rights, individual liberty, and school choice,” the GOP continued. “Floridians reject dangerous open borders and reckless inflationary policies that hurt our families and communities.”

Biden’s visit to Florida also comes as voters are slated to decide on whether to constitutionally protect abortion rights in November up to the point of “viability,” a measure Gov. Ron DeSantis predicts won’t reach the necessary 60%.
