WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two high-profile Florida Republican representatives warned against former President Donald Trump tapping former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley as his vice president.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said Wednesday that Haley “would be a terrible VP pick.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz also chimed in on the subject, responding “correct” to a post from Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s prediction that the “MAGA” movement would “revolt” should she have any position in a Trump administration.

“She represents the neocon establishment America last wing of the Republican Party that we are absolutely done with,” Greene said. “Also, she lied and said she would not run against Trump.”

Donald Trump Jr., a son of the former president, reassured supporters that he’d use his influence “to great lengths” to make sure Haley doesn’t become Trump’s running mate.

“She’s a puppet of the establishment in Washington D.C.,” Trump Jr. said. “She’s the new favored candidate of the billionaire class because they want control.”

Another ardent Trump supporter, Roger Stone, said “NO NO NO” on the idea.

Trump sounded off Wednesday on New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu endorsing Haley for president, saying the former U.N. ambassador “has no chance of winning.”

Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign has been spatting with both Trump and Haley, maintaining that Haley is running primely to sabotage DeSantis’ campaign in favor of the former president.

“Every dollar spent on Nikki Haley’s candidacy should be reported as an in-kind to the Trump campaign,” DeSantis’ campaign said. “No one has a stronger record of beating the establishment than Ron DeSantis, and this time will be no different.”

DeSantis and his campaign have been sparring with Haley for weeks after she sprung to third place nationally in the GOP primary.

As of mid-December, DeSantis and Haley are tied nationally near 12% average support. Trump spiked to around 60% later into 2023, previously hovering near 50%.

The first voting for the 2024 GOP primary begins Jan. 15 with the Iowa caucus.
