TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Wilton Simpson for Agriculture Commissioner Wednesday.

“Commissioner of Agriculture is an important position in the future prosperity and safety of our great state and Wilton Simpson is the candidate that will fill the position with strong and aggressive leadership,” Fraternal Order of Police President Steve Zona said.

The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police represents more than 24,000 law enforcement officers.

The Agriculture Commissioner also oversees the Division of Consumer Services.

“It is a complex position dealing with fighting fraud, gas inspections, and concealed carry permitting,” Zona said. “Wilton Simpson is the man for the job, he understands the complexities of our state and we look forward to working with him in the future.”

Simpson currently serves as Senate President. He played a large role in passing monumental conservative legislation through the Florida Legislature including the Parental Rights in Education Act, the Stop WOKE Act, and the 15-week abortion ban.
