TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – On the strong headwind from his near-20 point landslide in November’s gubernatorial election over Charlie Crist, Gov. Ron DeSantis is launching a new book in February 2023 outlining how his policies in Florida are a “battle-tested blueprint for America’s revival.”

“No American leader has accomplished more for his state than Governor Ron DeSantis. Now, he reveals how he did it,” the book description says. “This book is a winning blueprint for patriots across the country. And it is a rallying cry for every American who wishes to preserve our liberties.”

The book will cover key moments in his life, like growing up in a working-class family, playing in the Little League World Series, education at Yale and Harvard, volunteering for the Navy after 9/11, serving in Iraq, his family, and insight into his thinking when grappling with COVID-19 restrictions, Critical Race Theory, ‘woke’ companies, and “legacy media.”

Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival is going on sale Feb. 28, 2023 on DeSantisBook.com.

“What Florida has done is establish a blueprint for governance that has produced tangible results while serving as a rebuke to the entrenched elites who have driven our nation into the ground. Florida is proof positive that we, the people are not powerless in the face of these elites,” DeSantis writes.

A press release from HarperCollins, the publisher of the book, notes it will tell the story of the governor’s “bold, substantial policy achivements,” including education reform, reducing taxes while generating a record budget surplus, strong stances on immigration and law and order, conservationism, and appointing conservative judges to the state’s courts.

“Everyone can see Governor Ron DeSantis is a gifted leader, and now people will discover he’s also a gifted writer. His book explains how he applies his sense of True North to life and leadership,” said Broadside VP & Editorial Director Eric Nelson.

DeSantis is the 46th governor of Florida and was previously a U.S. Rep. from Florida’s 6th district, a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus. Prior, he was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy advising SEAL Team One in Iraq in 2007.

The Courage to Be Free will provide a first-hand account of “the blue-collar boy” who blew to national attention when he took on Disney’s opposing the Parental Rights in Education Act, along with battling national figures like Anthony Fauci in the war of COVID-19 lockdown policies vs Florida’s relaxed regulations and bolstering of personal medical freedom.

“When he implemented evidence-based and freedom-focused COVID-19 policies, the press launched a smear campaign against him, yet Florida’s economy thrived, its education system outperformed the nation, and its COVID mortality rate for seniors was lower than that in 38 states,” the publisher says. “When he enacted policies to keep leftist political concepts like critical race theory and woke gender ideology out of Florida’s classrooms, the media demagogued his actions, but parents across Florida rallied to his cause.”

“Dishonest attacks from the media don’t deter him. In fact, DeSantis keeps racking up wins for Floridians.

DeSantis and his wife, Casey, both promoted the book on social media.

The book is DeSantis’ second, previously writing Dreams from Our Founding Fathers: Principles in the Age of Obama in 2011.
