Gaetz and Luna endorse Gus Bilirakis for reelection, praise mutual support for Trump
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Florida Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna endorsed fellow Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., for reelection Tuesday.
“Congressman Bilirakis is the national standard for constituent service,” the two representatives said in a joint statement. “He is tireless advocate for the seniors, veterans, and citizens of Florida in their time of need.”
Bilirakis represents Florida’s 12th district, located just north of the Tampa Bay area. It covers parts of Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties.
“We appreciate Gus’s steadfast support for President Trump and enthusiastically endorse his re-election,” Gaetz and Luna said.

All three have endorsed Trump for president in 2024.
In August 2023, Bilirakis joined a slate of Florida Republican officials to visit the Iowa State Fair with former President Donald Trump.
Bilirakis endorsed Trump early in the GOP primary, in April 2023.
“During his time in office, President Trump enacted policies that spurred economic growth, protected our national security, and improved the lives of millions of Americans,” Bilirakis said at the time. “I had the privilege of working with President Trump on several initiatives that directly benefited the people of Florida’s 12th congressional district.”
In 2022, Bilirakis won his congressional seat with a strong 70.4% of the vote, defeating Democratic challenger Kimberly Walker, who only garnered 29.6%.
He was first elected top Congress in 2006.
Some of Bilirakis’ top priorities in the House recently include improving the environment, lowering health care costs, helping health care patients, tackling the fentanyl crisis and more.
