‘Happy Birthday, Dad!’: Casey DeSantis Wishes Husband Happy Birthday
TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Wednesday marked Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 44th birthday, originally born on Sep. 14, 1978.
His wife, Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis, wished him a happy birthday on social media in a photo with their children.
“Happy Birthday, Dad! We are so proud of you, your leadership, defending the rights and liberties of all Floridians, and for being a beacon of hope to the world that the idea of America continues to shine brightly in Florida,” she said Wednesday morning.
DeSantis has centered a strong part of his administration on emphasizing the importance of family and parenting.
A notable piece of his pro-family agenda included the Parental Rights in Education Act which draw stark opposition from California-based Disney. The law, signed by the governor earlier this year, primely ensured children were not taught sexual orientation and gender identity by teachers in grades K-3.
DeSantis also focused on endorsing ‘pro-parent‘ school board candidates and launched a tour to promote them during election season.
On fatherhood, the governor urged the country to resolve its ‘fatherhood crisis,’ saying many of society’s issues would be resolved if every American child had a loving father in the home.
The Republican incumbent’s opponent in the November general election – Charlie Crist – called out what DeSantis is “wishing for” in reference to supposed policy items he will try to implement if re-elected.
“It’s Ron DeSantis’s birthday — what do you think he’s wishing for? A complete abortion ban? To be president? Autocratic control over Floridians?” Crist said.
DeSantis has not indicated support for a “complete abortion ban” and has laughed off running for president in 2024.
