TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Republican Party of California National Committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon endorsed Florida National Committeeman Peter Feaman in his bid for chair of the Republican Party of Florida amid the expected vacancy of the position.

Republican Party of Florida Vice Chairman Evan Power is also running for the seat as the current chair, Christian Ziegler, is involved in a sexual assault investigation. Members of the party have urged Ziegler to step down, even though Ziegler maintains he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

“At the RNC, Peter is well known as a man of integrity and principle. In today’s political climate we need an individual like Peter Feaman in the Florida chair role, more than ever,” Dhillon said about Feaman.

She noted that Feaman has acquired respect from other RNC members on a national level and donors after almost 12 years on the RNC.

“Peter checks all the boxes. I would love to work with him at the RNC as Chairman of florida to secure victory in the most important election of our lifetime,” Dhillon said. “Please vote for Peter Feaman for Chairman and make the Florida Republican Party great again.”

Dhillon had previously thrown her hat into the ring to serve as the Republican National Committee chair, but lost against Ronna McDaniel in January 2023.

“Most of you know me as one of the lawyers for President Trump, fighting for election justice all over the country,” her letter began with.

Dhillon spoke of her first time meeting Peter when they served on the Republican National Committee Convention Rules Committee in Cleveland, Ohio in 2016.

“We joined forces with the Trump team to fend off the never-Trumpers to ensure that our party’s nominee, Donald Trump, would be nominated without incident,” she explained. “Peter was an articulate spokesman on our Rules Committee in defense of our President, and both an excellent team player and a leader.”

This is not the first time Dhillon has weighed in on the race for chair of the Republican Party of Florida. She backed Ziegler over Power when the two went head to head for the Florida GOP chair position in January 2023.

Feaman announced he would run for the Florida GOP chair seat Wednesday, calling Chairman Christian Ziegler’s involvement in a sexual assault investigation “shocking, depressing, and unnerving.” The party stripped Ziegler of his authority this week.

“After encouragement from so many of you, and after thoughtful consideration and prayer, I am running to serve as Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida,” he said.

“Leadership, experience, and integrity is needed now more than ever,” Feaman said. “I believe now is the time to use my experience and conservative credentials to unify our party and be a steady hand through the 2024 election cycle.”

Feaman promised to bolster fundraising for the state party and to “unify the grassroots” toward a November 2024 victory.

“Know this, the Tallahassee establishment will fight like mad and use any means necessary to win this election for their preferred candidate. I’m confident that the grassroots of Florida will prevail,” he said.

During a meeting this week, the party stripped Ziegler of his authority and reduced his salary to $1. Ziegler would also not be allowed to fundraise or speak on behalf of the Florida GOP.

Ziegler has maintained he is innocent and believes he will be exonerated once the investigation is complete.

Following the meeting, the party is expected to vote on Ziegler’s membership status Jan. 8 at a second special meeting.
