Iliana Jones wins Winter Garden commissioner seat as Democrats continue facing losses

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Iliana Ramos Jones won against Winter Garden City Commissioner Ron Mueller in this week’s runoff election in District 2 as state Democrats continue to face losses in their efforts to “take back Florida.”

While a nonpartisan race, Mueller, the incumbent, was backed by the Orange County Democrats. Jones ran on supporting police, lowering crime, enacting “fiscally conservative” policies and more.

Just last month, GOP-backed candidates across the state defeated around half of those Democratic-backed candidates – most of whom were simply defending blue seats.
