Jacksonville City Council to swear in Randy White as president, Kevin Carrico as vice president

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville City Councilman Randy White is set to be sworn in as the council president Thursday, and Councilman Kevin Carrico to be sworn in as the council’s vice president.

During Thursday’s installation ceremony for 2024‐2025, White, set to be the council president, and Carrico, designated as the council vice president, will be sworn into their roles.

White will be transitioning from his role as vice president and taking the seat of current-Council President Ron Salem. Carrico will be assuming White’s seat.

The council president and vice president are elected by the 19-member body of the Jacksonville City Council and will serve a term of one year, starting from July 1.

The 2023‐2027 City Council Members are:

  • Rahman Johnson, District 14
  • Terrance Freeman, At‐Large, Group 1
  • Ron Salem, At‐Large, Group 2
  • Nick Howland, At‐Large, Group 3
  • Matt Carlucci, At‐Large, Group 4
  • Chris Miller, At‐Large, Group 5

The installation ceremony will take place Thursday at the Jacksonville City Hall at 5:30 p.m. and will be open to the public.
