JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The City of Jacksonville is accepting applications for Mayor Donna Deegan’s African American Advisory Board.

Deegan announced the creation of the board in February, which she said would be made up of 11 individuals who will “act as a liaison between the Black community and City government.”

“My hope is that this will help us take another step to create opportunities for everyone in our City, no matter what they look like or where they come from,” Deegan previously said.

The city asked that individuals interested in joining the board to apply by May 3. The application can be found here.
