TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Floridians are reminded to be vigilant of fraudsters as Hurricane Ian approaches the coast.

Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis says fraudsters will be working overtime during the storm.

“Don’t let a bad actor come between you and your insurance claim,” said Patronis.

Congressional Candidate for Florida’s 13th District, Anna Paulina Luna also reminded Floridians to take photos inside and outside of properties ahead of the storm.

Gov. Ron DeSantis urged Floridians to be aware of which zones they are located as local governments determine whether to call for evacuations ahead of Hurricane Ian.
