TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Senate’s Republican leadership expressed their support for Sen. Gayle Harrell, R-Stuart, in her reelection efforts on Monday.

Senate President Kathleen Passidomo, R-Naples; Senate President-Designate Ben Albritton, R-Bartow; and Sens. Jim Boyd, R-Bradenton, and Jay Trumbull, R-Panama City, endorsed Harrell in a joint statement.

“Gayle brings an unparalleled health care expertise, a relentless commitment to protecting our waterways and a steadfast drive for preserving parental rights to the Florida Senate on behalf of the hard working Floridians she serves,” the statement read.

“She is an advocate for doing the right thing, putting people first and ensuring access to opportunity for all. We are proud to endorse Gayle Harrell for the Florida Senate because no one will work harder to be a voice for Senate District 31,” it added.

The senator played a large role in Passidomo’s Live Healthy agenda, prioritizing the buildup of the state’s healthcare workforce, as well as healthcare innovation.

Harrell’s district includes all of Martin County and parts of St. Lucie and Palm Beach Counties.

Although she faces both primary and general election opposition in 2024, she won a comfortable 58% of the vote during her last election in 2020.
