WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (FLV) – At a press conference to reflect on the three-year anniversary of former President Donald Trump’s “15 Days to Slow the Spread,” Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo questioned if anyone should take the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines at all.

“These vaccines have a terrible safety profile at this point in the pandemic,” he said. “You know, I’m not sure anyone should be taking them and that’s [the] honest truth.”

Ladapo slammed the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration for “deny[ing] the truth.”

He said the CDC and FDA have not “said a word” about studies Ladapo said found waning vaccine protection from infection.

The surgeon general praised DeSantis for his handling of the pandemic.

“It’s not possible to give him enough credit for what he did,” he said. “2-3 years ago, it was like a pin dropping. There were almost no dissenting voices.”

“He held his positions over things that made sense to him and in fact, made sense to a lot of people inside, even though they weren’t vocal when everyone was having a spasm over just the simplest drop of common sense.”
