ORLANDO (FCV) – AdventHealth, the largest healthcare system in Florida, has announced that it will no longer require workers to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

The announcement came after a federal court ruled that the Biden Administration cannot enforce healthcare vaccine mandates.

Employees were scrambling to get exemptions at workplaces across Florida until recent court decisions and new legislation signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) caused companies to reconsider vaccine mandates.

Companies like AdventHealth say they are going to “review” guidelines relating to vaccine mandates to make future decisions.

It is not clear if employer-enforced vaccine mandates will become widespread in Florida as opposed to other bluer states like New York.

The new legislation signed by DeSantis does not entirely outlaw all vaccine mandates, but it makes them difficult to carry out.

According to the New York Times, Florida is remaining at low COVID-19 case rates per 100,000 per day.
