TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – The Latin Builders Association announced they are endorsing U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., for reelection in 2024 on Friday.

Scott announced his run for reelection in January. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018.

The Latin Builders Association is the largest Hispanic construction association in the country, representing over 650 companies across the construction industry.

“The Latin Builders Association and their members know Senator Scott will always fight for Florida jobs by reducing burdensome regulations and lowering taxes,” a press release from the campaign said.

Scott said he is “honored” to receive their endorsement.

“The Latin Builders Association and their many members have done so much to help grow Florida’s economy and I’m happy to have worked with them for so many years. I’m fighting up in Washington to cut red tape so Florida’s construction industry can continue to prosper,” Scott said.

Scott said the Latin Builders Association and the many members they represent have been a “vital part of Florida’s resounding economic success” and that he looks forward to continuing to work with them.

“On behalf of the Latin Builders Association, it is an honor to once again stand with Senator Rick Scott and endorse his re-election to the United States Senate,” said Anthony R. Gomez, president-elect at the Latin Builders Association said.

Gomez said in 2010, they were one of two groups who endorsed Scott in his gubernatorial bid.

“As Senator he’s been a protector of taxpayer dollars and a champion for small businesses, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the future,” Gomez continued.
