LEE COUNTY (FLV) – The Lee County Supervisor of Elections announced that because of impacts of Hurricane Ian, “numerous” polling places typically open on Election Day, Nov. 8, are unavailable.

Voters are encouraged by the County to vote early at the 12 early voting sites, which will be open on Election Day to “replace traditional polling places.”

“You can vote at ANY of the 12 voting sites, regardless of your assigned precinct,” they said.

As of Nov. 2, more than 164,000 voters have turned out for the 2022 election thus far. 53.51% of those are Republican and 25.51% are Democrat.

Lee County was strongly affected by Hurricane Ian when it made landfall and as it traveled through the state. Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared in the area over the last month at many press conferences to issue grant and relief money.
