FORT MYERS, FL – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has seen an increase in left-wing attacks on his children, and it is taking a toll, financial and emotional, on the first family and DeSantis’ team.

Last Tuesday, Peter Schorsch, founder of Florida Politics, tweeted out multiple comments that politicized DeSantis’ children.

In a seeming dox-attempt, Schorsch told his following that “After @GovRonDeSantis’s kid didn’t pop up for the first day of school at either of the two most prominent private schools, I asked Gov.’s Office what school the DeSantis family picked.”

In another tweet, he complained about the level of protection required for DeSantis’ family, tweeting, “Will this cost increase now that the first of @GovRonDeSantis’ kids are at school? <Whispers: But are they at school? Or is the Governor so against mask mandates he’s not sending his kid to school right now?”

The Governor’s office informed Florida’s Conservative Voice that the expenses for protecting the first family are $4.81 million in the last fiscal year. They said that for the previous governor, Rick Scott, protection cost $2.5-$3 million.

The source was asked about the impact of recent doxxing attempts and false media narratives, like the one from the Associated Press claiming that DeSantis is promoting Regeneron monoclonal antibody treatments because a top donor invests in the company.

“I feel that the constant false, inflammatory corporate media narratives about Governor DeSantis can be dangerous. People who believe these false narratives could become radicalized and threaten the Governor and his family,” the source said.

Conservatives have highly criticized Schorsch, and others, for trying to dox DeSantis’ family and politicize his children. Children and family have typically been “out of bounds” in the political arena, unless they are politically involved in public life.

The attempts by Schorsch to reveal where DeSantis’ children attend school come less than two weeks after Democrat Lisa King tried to dox them, which Florida’s Conservative Voice reported earlier this month.
